Silver Forest Siberians is a specialized cat breeder dedicated to the preservation of the Traditional Siberian Forest Cat. Our Lines are imported from Russia with pedigrees, studies and screening of all breeders to be healthy and free of Siamese aka Neva genes. This cat breed has been a hardy native of Siberia for over 1000 years. This ancient breed of cat was originally thought to weigh 45 lbs. and is also the ancestor to all long hair cats. We find the Traditional Siberian Forest Cat lines are the most hypoallergenic and possess the greatest life expectancy. These Forest Cats are excellent hunters but also have the natural social skills to be invited into your home. These natural traits along with their beauty and charm make them a cherished addition to caring families.

We believe that each family’s needs are unique and there may come a time when you may not be able to keep your Siberian Kitten or Cat.  We will accept the return of any Siberian Kitten we sell for ANY REASON and assist in finding a new family for your Siberian kitten and with your permission resell if appropriate with 100% of the proceeds of this resale returned to you. If your kitten or cat is not resalable and/or cannot be re-homed, we will board your cat or kitten free of charge. with all the love and care they deserve given throughout the remainder of their life.

Our Mission

In the 1990’s cat breeds were becoming popular World wide. Many new “designer breeds” were developed along with National and International  Cat registries. The Traditional Siberian Forest Cat also was effected by this when it was crossed with a Siamese to introduce a new color pattern to the Breed.  Since this occurred on the river Neva below the city of St. Petersburg, Russia, the new subspecies of the Siberian Forest Cat was named “Neva Masquerade” in Russia and  Siberian “Color-point” in the west.

Most breeds of Cat today are “designer breeds”  and are suffering from a barrage of genetic diseases. such as, HCM and PKD. The Traditional  Siberian Forest Cat is one of only a few natural breeds left in existence.  Our mission is to preserve this breed through extensive pedigree studies and screening and to eliminate all Siamese genes from our breeding program. Hardy dominant traits or preserved and genetic diseases minimized similar to Mother Natures Method and direction for this Amazing gift.

We respect this breed of cat and are always directed by their best interest  We are delighted to place these cats in homes with allergy sufferers,  who previously could not own a pet.
